About the Cabbies

Three Edmonton-area friends have been playing in bands, songwriting and recording for more than 15 years together, mostly as part of a five-piece roots-rock band called The O6.

During the COVID years, they were able to keep up their musical connection via regular Google Meets and outdoor firepit acoustic practices. From those sessions, the idea came to pursue their collective love of vintage rock, good beer, debates about Edmonton Oilers roster moves and music gear purchases, and start performing together as a trio.

Each member – Jeff McLellan, Jorg Bauer and Christopher Nash – plays multiple instruments and takes turns on lead or harmony vocals, showcasing some mature pop/folk/roots rock songwriting chops while also bringing back covers of favourite artists that have been influences (even performing The Beatles’ Let it Be album front to back).

For the Cabbies, having engaging and memorable performances are just as important as having good songs. They have recently performed at Edmonton Ski Club and Sea Change Brewing, as well as neighbourhood concerts in Edmonton communities, with more shows on the way.
